My journey into photography started way back in the mists of time - well, the 1960's anyway! I was given my first camera aged 9 or 10 and I was hooked. I was disappointed when the film jammed but I was determined to carry on and have progressed to the mirrorless kit I use today. My favourite photography genre is Street photography and I always convert my images to black and white having been inspired by the early street photographers such as Henri Cartier-Bresson and his book: "The decisive moment."
To me, that means capturing a little bit of history that can never be repeated. I've also been inspired by the following quotes by Alex Webb and Ted Grant:
"I only know how to approach a place by walking. For what does a street photographer do but walk and watch and wait and talk, and then watch and wait some more, trying to remain confident that the unexpected, the unknown, or the secret heat of the known awaits just around the corner."
Alex Webb.

"When you photograph a man in colour, you photograph his clothes. When you photograph a man in B&W, you photograph his soul."
Ted Grant.
